YOUNG DRIVER SCHEME

To find out about an opportunity to get some β€˜pre’ driver experience in Essex in an off road environment go to:

Chelmsford Yound Driver Scheme

Colchester Young Driver Scheme

Earles Colne Young Driver Scheme

There are many resources available to you as a teacher of keystage 4 & 5 to encourage students to explore their knowledge and perceptions of driving and road traffic collisions.

Roadster has been running in Essex since the year 2000 and is available to year 12 students in Essex through schools and colleges.  Events are generally organised in school although there are a few outside venues.

Venues currently offered:

Belchamps Scout Activity Centre, Hawkwell (Rochford Schools and Colleges in September)

Ford Motor Company, Dunton (Brentwood Schools and Colleges in October)

Chelmsford TA Centre (Chelmsford Schools & Colleges in March)

Numbers are limited in these outside venues to 72 students per college per day at outside venues, however if this is in school, it can be delivered to the year group (200 maximum per day).
Roadster is tailored to your college timetable to accomodate either 5 or 6 x 40 minute scenarios.  If your college has space for a driving element in netball courts or car parks then it can offer the full Roadster experience.
